The summer touring season is starting, and as you read this, Brian and I are on the road, traveling from Chicago to Denver, from Denver to Phoenix, from Phoenix to Green Valley (Arizona), Green Valley to Santa Fe, and from Santa Fe to St. Louis. I calculated that it will be over fifty hours of driving alone. Our Dodge minivan (lovingly dubbed "The Golden Eagle") has had some hiccups lately and has been to the mechanic. For this trip, we will be taking along our percussionist Joey Werner, and so we will have a vehicle that is full of band equipment, clothes, CDs, and three grown men. As romantic as the idea of hitting the open road is, the romance is gone by mile marker ten. As much as we wish we could take all our fans with us in "The Golden Eagle," we alas would be offering an excursion that is as cramped as a trip on a Soyuz capsule, smelling of stale coffee and old hamburgers, and festooned with scribbled lyric sheets and other unidentifiable flotsam.
Brian and I do enjoy traveling with our fans under some more favorable conditions. And over the years we have developed some fantastic tours that have enabled us to share time with our fan base while traveling in a style that is much more relaxed and accommodating than our minivan. It's hard to believe, but we have been bringing fans to Ireland for over a decade now, and we are well on our way this year to having another fantastic tour to Killarney in October. Better yet, we answered our fans requests and added the "dessert tour" which allows those who wish to travel on with us to take in an exciting city in Europe. This year it is Barcelona, Spain, and we are promising an intimate, fun and exciting time while enjoying one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Our fans also asked for a warm weather destination, and so after some research, we decided to begin the first of our "Thaw Tours" with Costa Rica for January of 2016. This tour has some fantastic opportunities that are included in the price, from volcano watching to rain forest tours to beaches. We have kept the price low for all our tours and allow fans to get there without having to take out a second mortgage. We offer a range of options so our fans can participate in the things they really want. And our tours are long enough to make wonderful memories and short enough to keep the cream fresh in the fridge at home. As one fan said, "They are just right tours," and we couldn't agree more.
The hardest part of the tour is getting folks to take the plunge and get their applications in. Everyone is busy and though October and January seem far, far away, for the travel industry things are already filling up and our preferred options are going fast. And so we have to "dance to their tune." Offers on group air for Ireland and Barcelona will be gone by May 24, and group room rates for Costa Rica by the same date. By delaying you miss out on saving money and keeping the tour costs low. That is why we are encouraging you all to take the time to look at the tours and get in touch with Susan Sheehan at 800-833-4373 or write email@example.com.
Travel with us to Ireland, Barcelona, and Costa Rica... it sure beats the mini-van!
