American Roots and Celtic Soul - LIVE Volume One
Includes Danny Boy!
We stumbled onto the Switchback sound a few short years ago at an outdoor event in Kansas on the hottest and most humid day of the year. We were mesmerized immediately with the original music, the trad Irish, the amazing sounds that pour from the mandolin & guitars...not to mention the vocals. We have played the live album over many times, enjoying our concert seating in the car or the recliners! The mix of selections is perfect, and we cannot pick a favorite. Congrats on this Live release, and keep on sharing the Switchback sound! ~ Janelle Downs, Kansas
Absolutely wonderful. It captures the soul of Switchback that you just don't get in the studio. And Jim Sundberg's liner notes add the humor and history that you would get at a concert. Looking forward to more Live Volumes. A big thank you to all involved in putting out this CD.
You made this Switchback fan very happy! ~ Erica Abayhan, Illinois
Just listened to your live CD. What an excellent recording! For the first time I can honestly say that a live recording is comparable or surpasses the studio version. The energy and purity of the live performance is there. What a bonus! It’s like having your Jameson
served in a crystal goblet in your own family room. Very impressed! ~ David Nelson, Ontario, Canada
We could say that this album is the next best thing to being at a live concert. But the fact is often at a live concert it is very difficult to hear both the lyrics and the accompaniments with such clarity as you have captured on this live album. Remarkably, the energy, vibe & connection to the band that concert goers wouldn't expect from
listening to an album actually happened to us right here at home. Brian's fiery guitar licks supported by the backbone of Marty's colorful bass lines were delightful. ~ Linda Marshall, Michigan
Anyone would want to be so lucky to catch you whirlwind, energetic and passionate musicians at a live show, yet this album delivers the next best thing! Captured in various settings, from barns to tents to theaters, these tracks are the perfect weave of songs. Both for 'never evers', slated to become fans, as much as for long-time fans, who wish to revisit a concert they enjoyed. This CD has it all and the photographic work takes us on the road with you. ~ Cornelia Dhaseleer, Michigan
